About Brattleboro

 

Brattleboro is both an urban and rural community located on the Southeast corner of Vermont. Located 90 miles Northwest of Boston, Brattleboro is accessible from Interstate 91, Route 5, Route 9, Route 30 and by railroad on the Amtrack Vermonter. The town has a night time population of around 16,000 and a daytime working population of around 35,000 people. The diverse community with a mix of residential property, active farmland, heavy industry, warehouses and high technology businesses makes for a vibrant community.
Brattleboro is well known for its human services such as the Austine School for the Deaf, World Learning School for International Training, Brattleboro Retreat for psychiatric, and drug and alcohol addiction treatment, and the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.
The town is situated along the picturesque Connecticut River and the West River. Within 30 miles of several ski resorts, Brattleboro is a stop by many for shopping, or just taking in the serenity of Vermont life.
