The Brattleboro Fire Department operates a number of apparatus out of both stations to accomplish a number of missions, from firefighting, hazardous materials responses, to special rescues, to emergency medical responses. Below is a look at these vehicles and what they do for the town.

Engine 3 Engine 3 is a 2008 pumper on a Pierce custom cab Contender. This engine is the first pumper to respond from the Central Station on all fire calls. It is also equipped with medical supplies to respond if the primary medical response vehicle is committed on another call. Engine 3 carries 1000 gallons of water, class a foam, a 1500 gpm pump with a Husky foam system, and an onboard generator.

Engine 2 Engine 2 is 1998 3D pumper on a Freightliner FL80 commercial cab. This engine is the first out of the West Brattleboro Station, and is equipped to respond to fire and medical calls. Engine 2 carries 1000 gallons of water, a 1500 gpm pump, class a foam and a FoamPro foam system.

Ladder 1Ladder 1 is Brattleboro's 105' aerial ladder. Capable of reaching the upper floors of the towns higher buildings, Ladder 1 is pre-piped to the tip of the ladder for exterior fire attack. The truck is equipped with firefighting equipment as well as equipment for high angle rescues. Ladder 1 has a 1250 gpm Waterous pump and 275 gallons of water.

Rescue 2 Rescue 2 is the equipment workhorse of the department. It is a 1997 E-One walk in rescue body on a Freightliner FL80 commercial cab. This truck responds out of Central Station and is equipped with medical equipment, special rescue equipment (low/high angle, water, ice, trench, and collapse rescue), firefighting equipment, a 12,000 watt generator, front bumper mounted winch, air pack bottle refilling station, the Amkus vehicle extrication tools, and is capable of being used as a command center during extended time operations.

Engine 1 Engine 1 is the second engine to respond from the Central Station. It is a 1994 3D pumper on a Simon-Duplex custom cab. It is equipped with a 1500 gpm Hale pump, 1000 gallons of water, class a foam and a FoamPro foam system.

Engine 4 Engine 4 is a 2012 Pierce custom cab Sabre. This engine the first out apparatus from the West Brattleboro Station on all calls. Engine 4 carries 1000 gallons of water, class a foam, and a 1500 gpm pump with a Husky foam system.

Utility 10 Utility 10 is the departments Ford F350 four wheel drive utility responce vehicle. This vehicle's primary functions are towing the department's Hazardous Materials Decon Trailer, brush fires, fires inside the town's 5 level parking garage and medical calls. It is equipped with a mounted pump/tank in the bed with 225 gallons of water, class a foam, and brush fire equipment.

Dive Rescue 1 Dive Rescue 1 is the departments special response vehicle to water emergencies. Equipped with the dive teams equipment from dry suits to SCUBA gear to ropes, this vehicle is capable of transporting dive team personnel to the scene and operating during extended operations giving members a place to stage and recouperate.

Boat 1 Boat 1 is the departments pontoon boat. Capable of operating in shallow waters, it is the perfect platform for rescue/dive operations in the bodies of water within and around the town.

Haz Mat Decon Trailer The Hazardous Materials Decon Trailer is one of twenty such trailers located at departments around the state. The trailer is equipped with the essential supplies to perform decontamination to the Vermont Hazard Materials Response Team (VHMRT). The trailer also contains some equipment such as pads and booms for minor containment of spills, and is towed to the scene by Utility 10.

Utility 5 Utility 5 is the hub of the departments Fire Alarm Division, with it's 35 foot boom the Alarm Superintendant is able to maintain the town's fire alarm cable, keeping the initial fire reporting system to the majority of Brattleboro's businesses, hospitals, nursing homes and schools in service.

Boat 2 Boat 2 is an inflatable Zodiac boat used in the towns shallow waterways. It sports a 6hp outboard motor.

Car 1 Car 1 is the Fire Chief's response vehicle. It is equipped to function as a mobile command center for larger operations.

Car 2 Car 2 is the Assistant Chief's response vehicle. It is equipped to function as a mobile command center for larger operations

Car 3 Car 3 is the department's staff car and is used for transporting personnel to scenes, trainings and for daily tasks.

Utility 8 Utility 8 is the department's utiltiy pick-up. It is used for transporting personnel and equipment to and from scenes, and is one of the department's primary response vehicles during inclimant weather and mud seasons.
