Fire Prevention

The Brattleboro Fire Department continues to make a strong commitment toward educating the public about the dangers of fire. According to the National Fire Protection Association, a fire in the home is reported to a fire department in the United States roughly every one and a half minutes. In 2002 these fires resulted in 2,670 deaths, or one death approximately every 170 minutes. This is the reason Brattleboro Fire Department members are continuously Presenting various fire safety and educational programs to many different groups throughout the community. Some of these programs include...

Members of the Brattleboro Fire Department are also happy to do a walk through with homeowners, pointing out possible safety hazards and making recommendations for fire safety.

Individuals and groups are always welcome at the fire stations to tour the facilities and look at the equipment.

We feel these programs are an important service to the community. This is the way we get our message out to the people we serve, as prevention, education and awareness are the key to keeping our citizens safe from fire.
